XP Debt[ | ]
XP Debt is a reward for dying in combat! Starting at level 5, if you die in combat you receive a small amount of XP Debt. As long as you have XP Debt, half of all combat XP earned pays off XP debt, and the other half is earned normally. This means you never lose progress and indeed continue making progress (and can even level up) while you have XP Debt, but slower.
The amount of XP Debt you receive is a % of the XP needed for your next level, and it scales up slowly until reaching the maximum possible which is 10% per death.
The XP Debt you can possibly have at one time is the amount of XP needed for your next level. If you reach that cap, you will not accrue any further XP Debt no matter how many times you die.
Level | XP Debt |
---|---|
5 | 0.8% |
6 | 1.5% |
7 | 2.0% |
8 | 2.5% |

11 | 4.0% |
12 | 4.5% |
13 | 5.0% |

16 | 6.5% |
17 | 7.0% |
18 | 8.0% |
19 | 9.0% |
20+ | 10.0% |
Starting at level 11, you will receive 10% of the XP Debt you would have received from dying, for excessive bravery when you flee a combat.
