Tempo

Let's see the gameplay in a slightly different way. You may think killing huge mobs in huge parties is better just because it is so in all the multiplayer genre games. You may be right or wrong here, let me explain why. In the Stash RPG soloing is no different and may be even better than grouping. The game supports soloers in every way and does not put them in disadvantage. First of all everything is soloable by definition. You may defeat Bosses if you come to them wearing twink Armor and wielding up-to-date Weapons and keep them 5 levels below you. You won't get the XP but you will get the loot. You can even solo-farm Bosses.

So, what is Tempo? It's as simple as a measure of how fast you defeat a group of mobs in a given period of time.

A Simple Example
Playstyle Timespan Encounters Won Difficulty Set Party XP Bonus XP Per Encounter XP total Deaths Counter XP Debt Loot Share
Solo 600 minutes 600 Same level (100%) none 300 180000 0 0 All Is Yours!
Party of 6 600 minutes 100 +5 levels (+225% XP) +230% XP 1550 155000 5 10000 Party Share

  • Reasons for that a party is slower than solo (what makes parties lose Tempo):
    • Preparation: finding a party takes time, then waiting for everyone to get their stuff and get ready, empty Inventory space etc.
    • In combat: a banal fact. Party members while waiting for their turn often make the whole party lose time by being afk/planning their moves, it may take up to 20 seconds per person per turn and steals several minutes per battle from everyone. If you had several heads with separate thinking you would think as slow as well. Patience is a blessing when your in a party.
    • After combat: waiting for every member to heal / eat / asking if all are ready / toilet breaks / "I need to free Inventory space" / "I need to restart PC cuz it freezes" / "Wait for me, wife's calling-children crying" / "I need to walk my dog" / "Making myself a coffee" / write your reason here etc. etc.
    • After a private dungeon is empty, the only way to respawn all the mobs in it is to relogin. If a group relogins it needs extra time to regroup, which also eats precious time. Otherwise there are world dungeons but it also takes some walking and the mobs level spread can be significant. Plus the ambushes.

  • Reasons for why you can get so many combats per hour while soloing:

  • AND of course, unlike in parties, all loot is yours alone! All said is not to discourage social gameplay as partying offer generally more fun and chatty playstyle.
Playing in parties in Stash RPG is for extra entertainment and friendly time spending even though it can be slower in experience compared to solo grinding.
