Creating New Character

The Stash Character Creation screen as of September 30th, 2017.

Character Customization is one of the key gameplay features in the game Stash.

As shown on the right, it offers several options such as:

Choosing the best starting combo

Although racial bonuses are fairly small and have a minor impact at low levels and virtually no impact at mid and high levels (they exist primarily for flavor), you can still benefit from the informed choice of your starter combo e.g. having an extra 18% starting HP can be a lifesaver for an Elementalist if you chose to play Lukoi. As such, playing Dryad will increase crafting success chance for any character class etc. hence your choice of race and class can give you the best starting combo for your class, depending on your playstyle (see the table below):

Starting Stats are the stat values available at new character creation. They are based on race and class.

The following 20 Starting Stats combinations are available in the Stash RPG as follows:

Legend:

  •  : stat bonus will have best effect
  •  : stat bonus will have no effect
  • Icon crafting cooking : increased crafting success rate
  • Manapot : increased mana
  • Healthpot : increased HP
  • Addcharacterslotpix : increased initiative (your order of action during combat)

Naming policy

Namepolicy

Your name is the visual representation of your character. Ensuring that character names do not disrupt the roleplaying environment is important.

Here is some samples of acceptable roleplaying names for your character:

Walpeiros, Imbin, Galreth, Aranikul, Panpeiros, Fylaiver, Bertorin, Imkris, Xanmendi, Jorfis, Annairra, Koralyn, Qicaryn, Oriparys, Shasys, Jarxis, Theihyssa, Gylhyssa, Ireglyn...

Note: If your character name is unacceptable you will have to recreate, or it can be renamed by authorized users to whatever they deem fit

Here is some general advices on creating a genuine and great nickname for your character:

  • Your name must be creative and original (not from a book, movie, etc).
    • Bad naming examples: Tylerdurden, Neo, Terminator, Ironman, Deadpool, Slipperyjim etc.
  • Your name cannot be or contain a concept, verb, title, title of nobility, deity or religious name of any mythos or religion.
    • Bad naming examples: Zeus, Lordofthekings, Trinity, Jesussaves, Myroyalmajesty, Godofrpg, Preacher, etc.
  • Try not to create a name that is a word or a combination of words in the dictionary.
    • Bad naming examples: Eternalenvy, Fallenonyou, Pieliedie, Middleone, Renegade etc.
  • Do not create modern names, it must be suitable for a fantasy/medieval game.
    • Bad naming examples: Nerdyrng, Hresolution, Xnova, Devicednerd, Datguy, Agressif, Deadlocked, Nerfeddps, Symbiote, etc.
  • Your name absolutely cannot contain profanity, be crude, vulgar etc.

If you have difficulty customizing your character name you can:

use this Fantasy Name Generator or you can also use this Random Elf Name Generator which (the latter) also includes a surname you can later add at Squaknaut Baboo NPC (don't add surname right away at creation or it will look strange and without a space, just give it a first name at creation)

Alternative Characters

Up to 50 (fifty) alternative characters can legally exist on a user's account and only one character can be played at a time.

  • By default, any user's account has four character slots, so total number of alts you can have for free is 4.
  • Add Character Slot can be purchased with medallions in the Medallion Shop in order to add +1 to the maximum number of characters on a user's account.
  • Having more alts is very convenient when you go for a farming set-up, or just use the alts to store your items and expand your storage, use their stalls to advertise the items you crafted, or simply enjoy different playstyles based on race and class combinations, etc.

Multiboxing policy

Multiboxin

Multiboxing or multiaccounting is an illegal way to bypass natural game limitations, such as limited inventory space and shared stash slots, the need to look for a group with other players to combat bosses etc., some other natural limitations due to solo play. Some players think like that: because the game is turn-based, then why not just getting another computer(computers) and control many characters to group them together and progress in the game as many, will they ever find out and does this sound legit? Absolutely not!

In the Stash RPG only one user account is allowed per person. Bring your friends and travel in a party together. Join a clan.

Multiboxing is not allowed!

  • If someone is multiboxing they don't need shared slots, if they do so they can just transfer all the loot via direct trade between accounts, why would they want to pay for a shared slot? Ergo multiboxers are basically stealing money from developers by freeloading the game's monetary features, which hinders further development of the game, because that too requires funding. How often one leaves say a restaurant w/o tipping? There are players who enjoy playing for free but in turn they are ready to accept limitations. Multiboxers get no limits and for free.
  • Ferreting multiboxers was always the priority for the authority, when caught a multiboxer will lose progress and possessions and will have to recreate from zero.
  • After players make efforts to develop their characters, and if they multibox, they will get banned and asked to recreate from zero, so they will just quit playing because of the feeling of lost efforts. Multiboxing is a poison that causes cancer which in turn is ought to be cured, figuratively speaking. One cannot expect to live with it for eternity. Invest efforts in fairplay instead!
  • I mean, it's a way to get banned anyway, they last for only short time, so their efforts go waste and that is also why it's not acceptable because the game wouldn't want to lose population.
  • You can tell a multiboxer by their transactions record, they tend to not pay for items they transfer e.g. they transfer loot like 30 of items back and forth, but normally you tend to pay some triads to another player for their loot, otherwise there is no point of selling! And of course there is no point of giving the items back once you purchased them. That is ridiculous.
  • If one person controls many accounts they tend to transfer without giving anything in return, normally you give something valuable in return, that's why market price is stated on items.
  • As a fantasy world imitates real life trading, when you trade you tend to give back equal amount of market price e.g. you can give back valuable items, the market price is written on items, so you can calculate and decide what to give back to maintain trading balance between players and their respective accounts.
  • Unbalanced trades is what triggers suspicion of a multiboxer, so when you trade with your friend or family make sure to give back some triads and items to make it look fairplay!
  • Finally, there is low morale point of being a multiboxer because one cannot expect to compete with other players who play fair with natural limitations. What pride is in such egotism?

Shared Stash

Shared stash is located beneath stash interface when you open it. Your stash interface will switch to shared stash interface once you click the "switch to shared stash" button. From there, you can click the "switch to character stash" button to return to your stash interface. Each user's account has one shared stash slot available by default, and medallions can be used to add more shared stash slots to further simplify transactions between user's alternative characters.

Sharing Triads

Triads cannot be shared between alts, however e.g. you can purchase a processor and transfer it to your alt to be sold to NPC vendors for up to 75% of the original price, or sell it to another player who needs processors via direct trade for the full price. Also, it can be monetized via an alt's stall, but the system will charge the seller 10% of the price.

Character Stats Screen

Stats

This screen is accessed by opening your inventory and then selecting "Stats" from the drop down menu on the top ("Character" by default). On this screen you will see main information about your character, as well as character statistics.

Heritage

A heritage is purely social thing and is chosen for the purpose of roleplaying.

Main article: Heritage

Clan

A clan can be created or joined.

Class

Main article: Classes

Is your character's chosen class. It will affect your gear and abilities pool.

HP

Main article: Health

When your character's Health drops to zero, your character dies.

Mana

Main article: Mana

Mana is consumed when you use abilities.

XP

Main article: XP

Experience you gained at current level. The current level progress XP resets as you level up.

Level

Your character level, it determines tiers of items you are able to use. Increase your level by gaining XP.

XP Debt

See also: Death

Try not to die often or you will hoard this. A number of experience points you have to repay before it is nullified. While XP debt is present, all [XP] earned towards the next level is halved so that one half comes towards the next level while another half goes to repay the XP debt. It is actually possible to keep leveling up without nullifying the XP debt. There are special items like Lemon Cookies Of Mortis, Lemon Cookies Of Faeyora or Trickster's Treat, by eating those the XP debt can be diminished. XP debt appears when you flee a battle (debt effective from level 11) or die (debt effective from level 5). The XP debt increases with character level and low level players are not affected by the XP debt until they reach level 5.

Armor

The more Armor Rating your armor has the less damage you will take when attacked with melee. Armor Rating can be increased by buffs on character and enchantments put on your armor.

Resistances

Resistances diminish damage taken from spells of the respective element. Resistances can be increased by using potions, wearing enchanted pieces of armor and casting buffs.

Dodge and Parry

Not yet implemented but are planned in future updates.

Trade Skills

Trade Skills are the six crafts your character can have as well as the gathering skills. More crafts will be added in the future. Originally having one Crafting Skill Slot, the number of learnable crafts can be increased by purchasing and activating additional Crafting Skill Slot via the Medallion Shop.

Misc Combat Statistics

  • Include:
    • how many mobs you have killed total
    • total XP earned
    • number of deaths
    • total XP debt forfeited during your adventures
    • and times you have bravely fled a battle :)

Character Screen

Here you can see your equipped gear, gathering tools, mount, cloak, and your character's figurine with Decorative Gear and Peg Base in effect. Hold down a mouse button to turn your character's figurine around and zoom with mouse scroll wheel to see it from different angles. There are also slots for jewelry to be implemented in the game on release of the Jeweler craft.

TWD and Ability Power

Stats1

Character screen has a box with the same information on stats but with TWD and Ability Power added. TWD stands for Total Weapon Damage and is used to calculate to calculate the Basic Attack Basicatk damage (melee weapons or fists, you will swing a bow like a club using the Basic Attack). It does include Offhand Weapon but does not include Non-weapon Offhand or Shield. Ability Power is Class Primary Stat and TWD combined into a value. Ability Power affects the magnitude and effectiveness of ability usage and attacks. As abilities consume Mana, the damage is much greater than the value stated as TWD (plain TWD is dealt when you bash things immediately with your weapon w/o consuming Mana).

Transactions Between Players

There are many ways of how players can transact assets in the Stash RPG, as follows:

BOO Stall

Your stall

Every player has their own stall. It is located at the top of their Base of Operations area, has 10 starter slots and can be upgraded to up to 50 slots either with Building Materials and triads, or with medallions. Items placed there are retrievable once per hour for free, or for a fee more often. Selling price can be increased to up to 100 times the market price written on an item, which is the minimum price an item can be sold for. AD can be placed on items for free once per 5 minutes, or for a fee more often. Right click an item in your stall to AD it. The item will be marked with as AD'd which will expire in 48 hours and need to be AD'd again after that.

Direct Trade

Directtrade1
Directtrade2
Directtrade3

You can directly exchange goods with another player by highlighting then right-clicking their character when you see them, and selecting "trade". Another player will get a message box pop up, and after confirming you both will get the trade interface automatically opened. Double-click or drag-and-drop items from your inventory into the exchange frame, or input desired amount of triads. Both players should click "confirm" after which the deal is complete and you can see a receipt. However if one of the players has less inventory space than required to receive all the new items, the trade will be cancelled and you will get the corresponding chat message. Free some space and try again. If the player clicks away while receiving the trade request confirmation window, or you click to move away, your request will be cancelled automatically. Repeat the request. Only one trade request can be served at a time and is deadlocked. This means that no one can request a trade from both players currently engaged in the process of trade, neither both players can request a trade from anyone else nor can they do anything else. Any other action will cancel the trade. You can still chat during the trade!

Players' Stalls

Players' stalls can be accessed via BOO invitations and market area in Askagard, but the easiest way to access other players' stalls is to browse the Newspaper, described below:

The Newspaper

Press N to access The Askagard Avalanche, the newspaper with full database of goods currently advertised by players. There are six pages to select from a drop-down menu at the top of it which include:

Note: only items with AD will be displayed in the Newspaper, but players can access other player's stalls by clicking any item listed, so virtually your whole stall is advertised were you to display even one item.

The Newspaper has special frame for Sponsors, called "custom advertisement" located in the top corner of every page, with a custom text optionally added for the sponsored advertisement. You can become the Sponsor by paying as low as 4000 triads per month, or can optionally pay medallions. The Sponsor interface looks exactly as the one from the city market stall but with less options available at the top frame. The sponsored page will display your stall on click. If many players sponsor the same page, their advertisements will be displayed at random.

The Newspaper has no search field or any automated sorting options deliberately, it is made to avoid automation and make reading the Newspaper more human effort consuming and the listings more personal. You can turn pages to see more items that are listed by clicking the page corner.

Favorite Stalls

Newspaper

You can add stalls to your Favorites to have a quick link for crafters that keep refreshing their stalls with items you might want, click the star mark to favorite/unfavorite a stall. Up to ten stalls can be displayed as favorites at a time, although if you favorite more stalls, the others will get displayed after you unfavorite a displayed stall from the list by click the stall's star once again. All favorite stalls will be displayed beneath the Newspaper's pages.

Friends' Stalls

Once your friend granted you access to their BOO you can visit there and click on their stall. You can then purchase anything from their stall.

Renting a City Market Stall

Rentastall

This kind of stall can be rented to further advertise your BOO Stall to players who are shopping in the city. The market stall is located near the Rolling Stone Inn, and several NPC vendors are gathered around the market, thus making it a crowded place. Many players come there to purchase foods and it is not unusual that they can occasionally click the stalls and take a look at your goods. Rental price can be as low as 4000 triads per month. You can optionally rent it with medallions.
