Shields

A shield is an offhand that can be crafted by a Weaponsmith and therefore falls into weapons category. Often reinforced with a metal boss, rim or banding, a shield can be used to directly attack an opponent by punching with either its boss or its rim. Some combat skills can only be used when a shield is wielded e.g. Slam which slams a foe with a shield, dealing damage and stunning them. Therefore shields can inflict damage and are considered as falling into weapons category in the Stash RPG.
